Founder Story
Before OUDIQ, there was a question.
For years, I lived in Oman, where fragrance is not simply worn—it is part of everyday life. Oud was everywhere: in homes, offices, gatherings, and celebrations. It carried a sense of identity that stayed with people long after they had left the room. When I returned to India, I noticed something different.
The word "oud" had become popular, but very few people had experienced what authentic oud truly smelled like. The market was crowded with imitations, overpowering interpretations, and fragrances designed to follow trends rather than express craftsmanship.
I wasn't interested in creating another perfume brand. I wanted to understand the material itself. That search led me to Assam.
Instead of beginning in a laboratory, I began in the forests, plantations, and traditional distillation houses where agarwood has been cultivated and distilled for generations. Together with perfumer Kaushik Dey, I spent time with growers and distillers, learning not only how oud is produced, but also the patience, knowledge, and respect required to create it. Those conversations changed the way I looked at perfumery.
It realized that every exceptional fragrance begins long before it reaches a bottle.
It begins with the people who cultivate the land, the ingredients chosen with intention, and the countless decisions that shape the final composition. OUDIQ was born from that understanding.
We are not trying to recreate the past, nor are we chasing every new trend. Our goal is to create contemporary fragrances that honour authentic materials while remaining refined, wearable, and relevant for modern life.
The Perfumer's Perspective
I have always believed that a perfume should begin with an ingredient, not a trend.
Before I start building a fragrance, I spend time understanding the raw materials—the way they evolve, how they interact with each other, and what story they naturally want to tell.
When Vikram approached me with the idea of OUDIQ, we agreed on one thing from the beginning.
We would not build perfumes by copying what already exists.
Instead, we travelled to Assam, met the growers and distillers, and experienced agarwood where its journey truly begins.
That experience changed the way we approached every formula.
Each OUDIQ fragrance is developed patiently, refined through multiple trials, and evaluated not only for how it smells in the first few minutes, but for how it evolves over hours.
For me, a good perfume is not the loudest one.
It is the one that quietly becomes part of your identity.
Our Philosophy
Our Philosophy
Every fragrance begins long before it reaches the bottle.
It begins with curiosity, with learning, and with a respect for the people and places behind every ingredient.
At OUDIQ, we believe that perfumery is not about following trends or creating the loudest fragrance in the room. It is about creating compositions that feel balanced, purposeful, and timeless.
Our journey taught us that exceptional perfumes are built on understanding— understanding raw materials, understanding craftsmanship, and understanding how a fragrance becomes part of someone's identity.
Our Principles
That belief shapes every decision we make.
That belief shapes every decision we make.
We source with intention.
We compose with patience.
We refine without compromise.
We create fragrances that are designed to be worn, remembered, and lived with—not simply collected.
OUDIQ is a house that values authenticity over imitation, craftsmanship over shortcuts, and lasting character over passing trends.
Because we believe perfume is more than a fragrance.
It is a quiet expression of who you are.
